The inspiration came from a personal frustration. I'm someone who loves eating out and trying new places, but I kept forgetting the great restaurants I'd been to. I'd tell a friend "there's this amazing ramen place I went to last year" and then spend 20 minutes scrolling through Google Maps trying to remember where it was. Notes apps felt too clunky. Yelp is public and about reviews. Google Maps shows you everything, not just your personal history. Nothing was built for quietly logging your own food experiences. So I built Taste Memory — a completely private, ad-free food diary. The key insight was that most food apps are social or review-based. But eating is deeply personal. You don't always want to share your opinions publicly. You just want to remember. I added QR menu scanning because that's usually the moment you discover a dish you want to remember. A daily 7PM reminder helps with logging before you forget. And building it as a PWA means it works like a real app on your phone without any App Store friction. This is for people who eat seriously and want their food memories to last.
