I'm Michael, the creator of TaskPact, and I'm super thrilled to share what I've been building over the past few weeks!
TaskPact is born from a simple yet profound realization that sometimes, we all need a little extra push to turn our aspirations into achievements. Having come to the realization how powerful the fear of loss is in motivating us to achieve our goals, I decided to build a platform that incorporates just that!
Here's how it works:
1. Start by clearly defining what you wish to accomplish.
2. Lock in a deadline for your goal.
3. Make it real by pledging a monetary amount.
4. Add an accountability partner (they'll be responsible for confirming if you completed your goal or not)
5. Work towards your goal within the set timeframe.
5. If you succeed, you celebrate and retain your pledge! 🎉 (And we hope you do!)
6. If the goal isn't met, you lose your stake, with half going to charity to support a noble cause. 🤝(you can check out the charities we donate to at https://taskpact.org/charity. We're open to supporting other causes so feel free to email us any suggestions)
In essence, TaskPact leverages the power of incentives to shape your behavior positively, with an added layer of social good in the event you fail to meet your goals.
