I built TaskMate because I was honestly tired of something very small but constant — messy files. Downloads piling up, folders getting cluttered, and wasting time just trying to stay organized. It’s not a “big” problem, but it quietly slows everything down every single day. I wanted something that just fixes it automatically, without thinking about it. So I built TaskMate — a simple tool that takes any messy folder and instantly organizes it into structured categories like documents, images, videos, audio, and more. At first it was just a small Python script for myself, but while building it I kept improving the logic, handling edge cases like unknown file types, and eventually turning it into a full working tool with a backend and feedback system. The goal wasn’t to build something complex — it was to remove friction from a basic daily task.
