This is a really interesting and well-executed concept!
Quick question - how does this affect search engine crawlers and results? For example, will Google read the second sentence as "Hundreds of use our service!"?
@constancecchen Thank you Constance! You are right, the second example wouldn't make much sense to Google. You can however add a default value like in example number one, so you could do:
[p]Hundreds of [span monkey-content="country_adjective"][span]people[/span][/span] use our service![/p]
then Google would read "Hundreds of people use our service", while users would have people changed to their country's demonym. :)
Love the idea! It really takes away a lot of hard work. Can the texts also be localized or is it just English?
I do find the font on the website a bit weird though.
@dylan36032 Hey Dylan, indeed we tried to make it as simple as possible. Right now is english only, but localization to major languages will be available within a couple of days!
Following requests from existing customers we'll be adding other attributes in particular fields like travel (closest airport, largest airline nearby, etc.) and a couple others. Is there anything you think might be useful to add?
@giordanobd I could see something useful like "Flights from YOURCITY to EVENTCITY on DATES from PRICE on CARRIER" as an advanced option, and you might be able to make $$ off affiliate commissions.. basically, if I am hosting an event, it would be cool to let people know about how much it would cost to travel... or HOTELS, etc.
@anthonyadams@giordanobd Yeah that is actually a good idea! I have someone who uses it on an event page to say things like "We can organize flights from YOURCITY", and they asked to have the closest airport instead, which will be added soon. Flights could be cool to return in javascript, as I wouldn't be able to add the link in CSS...
Hey @erictwillis, thank you for hunting again!
I decided to create this product after several requests from people using Tailor, who wanted to get a little more “personal” with their users.
The product allows you to use geolocation information... in pure HTML. I think we came up with a pretty elegant solution that is perfect for static websites that want to add some personalized content.
If you'd like to learn a bit more about the thought process and the stack I wrote an article yesterday about it, http://thrustdivision.com/blog/t....
I look forward to answering all your questions!
