Hi, I’m James, the maker of TapScribe.
I built it because I wanted a straightforward way to record my consulting meetings, review the transcript and keep control of the files. I wanted to stay with the conversation and return to the details afterwards.
TapScribe captures microphone and Mac audio without a meeting bot, transcribes English locally, and lets you review the transcript alongside the recording. Recordings and transcripts are ordinary files in folders you choose. Markdown export, including optional automatic export, fits into workflows such as Obsidian.
A note on privacy: audio is not uploaded for transcription. Initial model downloads, licensing and update checks use the internet, and a cloud-synced folder may upload files through your sync service.
