The idea came around getting mentioned in Slack for one-off tasks. There's a category of things that are important enough to get done but that you don't want to add to Trello, Jira, Pivotal, [insert task tool]. It's also awkward to keep reminding someone something you need done. Tapbot is a way to solve that but automating and tracking those things without becoming a todolist.
