I wanted a dead-simple way to make one, so I built Tap and Hold Image Maker. How it works: X renders transparent PNGs differently depending on the background — light in the timeline, black when you tap and hold. Paint the part of your image you want visible in the timeline, and the tool computes the exact colour + alpha for every pixel so the hidden part reveals itself only on tap.
