Back in March 2021, we launched the first version of Tally on Product Hunt. Fast forward to today—more than 100 updates and over 140,000 happy users later—we're super excited to introduce you to Tally 2.0! We have a new logo, a redesign, and lots of product improvements in store for you—making Tally even more user-friendly and powerful. Right from the beginning, our main goal has been to make form-building fun, powerful, and free. And until today, that's what sets Tally apart from the crowd of form builders out there. 💸 Tally is free We offer everything you need to create beautiful and smart forms for free. You can even create as many forms as you want and get all the responses you need without spending a dime. ⌨️ Tally is simple Think of it like working with a regular text document. You can just start typing, and insert blocks with one simple shortcut. 👩🏻‍💻 Tally is made by a bootstrapped team There are just four of us, and we put all our energy into making Tally better by listening to our users. But how did we evolve? Our journey has been marked by continuous improvements in UX and speed, resulting in a product that is more powerful, customizable, and easier to use. With Tally, you can: → Create any type of form: from gathering client feedback, to lead generation, event registrations, or job applications. → Craft intelligent forms: using conditional logic, calculations, redirects, email notifications, and hidden fields. → Design forms your way: make your form look just how you want it to, with columns, customization features, and custom CSS. → Share your forms easily: you can share a link, embed them on your website, show them as a popup, or host the forms on your own domain. →Connect to your favorite tools: with integrations like Notion, Airtable, Google Sheets, Zapier, Make, Coda, and more. We want to thank everyone at Product Hunt for supporting us along the way. It is your support that fuels our passion to build the simplest way to create forms. We sincerely hope you enjoy Tally 2.0 and look forward to your feedback so we can continue to improve Tally for you. Marie & Filip Co-founders of Tally

Big congrats, @marie_martens. Tally has been the preferred form tool of Notion VIP for years. Does 2.0 support importing or syncing with a spreadsheet or database for managing questions programmatically in bulk?
Yucel F. Sahan
@marie_martens loved the new logo, congrats 👏🏻:)

@marie_martens @william_nutt Thanks so much for using Tally, William! We appreciate it a lot. 🙌 The goal is to release a public API first, which should hopefully help as well. But I like the spreadsheet sync idea, something we will look into!
Marie Martens
Thanks @yucelfaruksahan! Glad you like it!

@marie_martens Kudos to Marie, Filip, and the team for the evolution of Tally! It's impressive to see the commitment to user experience and the continuous improvements made. I'm excited to dive into Tally 2.0 and experience its enhanced capabilities firsthand. Well done!
Irina Haupt
Congrats on the launch, team! 🚀 What was the inspiration or driving motivation behind the redesign of your logo? 😍
Filip Minev
@irina_haupt Thanks Irina! We wrote about it in detail on our blog: https://blog.tally.so/introducin... The gist: "We eventually arrived at a version of the asterisk that truly resonated. This symbol represents the ‘required’ icon shown when you answer a mandatory question in a Tally form"
Irina Haupt
@filipminev Love this, what a brave move! Thanks for sharing the article!
Hey, awesome UI. I really like it. What is your USP related to the industry competitors such as Typeform? Interested in hearing what separates you!
Marie Martens
Hi @andriyuh, thanks! We don't have volume-based pricing, so you can create unlimited forms and collect unlimited submissions for free and our interface works like a text document (you can just type and insert blocks as you would in Notion for example). These articles sum up how we compare to other players out there: https://tally.so/help/compare
@marie_martens Awesome! Thank you for the great answer
Franziska Kroll
Congrats on the launch @marie_martens. This really sounds like a great alternative to Typeform. I was wondering if you also offer options for smart result analysis through custom queries or the comparison of results from different forms?
Marie Martens
Thank you @franziska_kroll! Not yet, but adding more analytics is something we'd like to work on soon actually. Sharing your suggestion with the team!
Franziska Kroll
@marie_martens Cool, thank you. I was missing these features in a lot of other products I checked out so if you ever need someone for a user interview with a people & culture perspective feel free to reach out :)
Vera Rose
Oh, I'm looking for smth like that. Will give it a try. Congrats on the launch 🔥
Filip Minev
@vera_mur Let us know what you think!
Vera Rose
@filipminev It took me about 10-15 minutes to create a submission form for future clients from scratch, and I love it! I do have a concern about a specific logic feature. I anticipate that when I use "show blocks", those blocks shouldn't appear until a user selects the expected answer to reveal the block. Everything else is great; we'll be using Tally for Refire Design.
Filip Minev
@vera_mur Glad to hear you loved it, and thanks for the feedback! Yes, we could look into making this better. Right now you do need to explicitly mark the blocks as hidden by default and then conditionally show them.
Vera Rose
@filipminev Thanks a lot, it helps :)
Harold
Congrats @marie_martens and @filipminev 🥳 Your product is great and your journey is such an inspiration for many of us. Keep on going, you rock 🚀

@marie_martens @hdkstr Thank you for all the support from the start, Harold! 🙌

I've seen Tally rise and shine and I love using it for my projects. It's a beautiful and simple product, yet super powerful. There is no reason to use Typeform anymore. Well done Marie and Filip for this incredible journey.
Marie Martens
