Hey Product Hunt 👋
I'm Ramki, a Network Security TAC Engineer from Chennai, India.
I built TacUNS Firewall because I wanted to bring more network visibility and control to everyday Android users without requiring root access or sending their traffic through a remote VPN service.
The idea started with a simple question:
**What if an Android user could actually see what their apps are doing on the network — and control it without needing to understand enterprise firewall configuration?**
That led me to build:
• Per-app Wi-Fi and mobile-data controls
• Local DNS filtering and threat protection
• Ad and tracker blocking
• Community blocklists covering 84,000+ domains
• Custom domain and firewall rules
• Scheduled blocking
• Per-app DNS and network activity
• 24-hour activity timeline
• Live network destination map
• Security Posture Score
The biggest challenge wasn't getting domains blocked. It was making network-security information understandable enough for a normal Android user while keeping the processing local.
TacUNS is free, requires no root or account, and doesn't route traffic through TacUNS servers.
I built and self-funded the project independently alongside my work in network security.
I'd love feedback from Android developers, security engineers, privacy users, and anyone who has used Android firewall or ad-blocking apps.
What is the one network-security feature you wish Android gave you natively?
