Hello Product Hunt! 👋

I built Tab Freezer because I desperately needed it myself.

I'm a tab hoarder - 100+ tabs open at all times. My laptop was struggling. I tried other tab managers but they either closed tabs (losing my workflow) or were too complex.

Tab Freezer does ONE thing well: freezes inactive tabs to free memory. They stay visible but stop using resources.

The testing surprised me: 84 tabs open, 3.1GB swap saved. That's the difference between "laptop crawling" and "laptop running smoothly."

How it works:
- Freeze current tab or all inactive tabs with one click
- Tabs restore instantly when you click them
- See real-time memory savings

It's my first Product Hunt launch - feedback very welcome!

Chrome, Edge, Firefox. €9.99 lifetime (early bird for 2 weeks).

Fellow tab hoarders, how many tabs do you have open right now? 😅

This is brilliant, Jens. I’m 100% the kind of person who leaves 40+ tabs open without noticing until my laptop starts screaming 😅

Quick question though when a tab gets frozen, does it instantly reload when I click back on it, or is there a delay? Just trying to picture the real workflow.

Also, props on building your first extension at 58 that’s inspiring.

Thanks Agbaje! 🙌 Great question - tabs reload instantly when you click them. No delay, just a quick restore. Feels exactly like switching to a regular tab. The frozen tabs act like closed tabs (free memory) but look like open tabs (keep your workflow). 40+ tabs is exactly the use case I built this for. Would love to hear if it helps! 🚀

Got it — that actually sounds super smooth.
The fact that it restores instantly without that annoying ‘refresh lag’ is a big deal for people who jump between tabs nonstop.

I’m curious though… do you plan to make a small landing page for Tab Freezer at some point?
A simple page showing that 3.1GB memory save example could make a huge difference, especially if you ever run ads or share it outside the Chrome Store.”
