Worse, modern cloud-sync tools force two unacceptable trade-offs: 1. **Privacy leaks**: Your unencrypted clipboard payloads are uploaded to third-party cloud databases. 2. **UI freezing**: Large image or project sync tasks block the main thread, causing keystrokes to drop. 3. **Format degradation**: Copying an SVG from Figma flattens it into a lossy raster image, throwing away your editable source. We built Syzygy to challenge this. We believe your clipboard should be a calm, durable, private workspace—not an unencrypted cloud pipeline. ### What makes Syzygy different? - 🏠 **Local-First & Offline-Ready**: Every snippet is stored on your local disk. Full-text search, OCR, tags, and text transforms execute in sub-milliseconds, even completely offline. - 📐 **Typed Content (14 Document Families)**: We don’t just store flat strings. An SVG retains both its rendered canvas preview and editable XML source; scanned PDFs preserve their layout while exposing extracted OCR text. - 🔒 **Zero-Server P2P Synchronization**: Paired devices establish direct, end-to-end encrypted QUIC tunnels across Local Networks (LAN), Tailscale/WireGuard VPNs, or encrypted relays. Our servers only validate licensing—they **never store, route, or inspect** your clipboard payloads. - ⚡ **Non-Blocking Background I/O**: Lightweight metadata headers sync in milliseconds.
