Synthcoda is designed around features I’ve found missing in existing coding agents. In particular:

  • A simple, fast interface where starting a new session is as quick and easy as opening a new tab

  • Not every interaction needs to be tied to a project folder. Synthcoda includes unbound sessions: freeform scratch spaces that are great for quick prototyping, debugging, and questions

  • Inline visualizations. Graphs are great for understanding things like data flow and model architectures, and Synthcoda can generate and display them inline

  • Proper diffs. While TUIs are great for some tasks, I’ve always found viewing diffs in the terminal to be cumbersome

  • Code reviews for any files, not just new PRs, shown inline

  • Automatic, lightweight snapshots/backups for files modified by the agent

  • Standalone and not tied to any specific IDE

  • Designed to work with new affordable coding plans like Z.ai's GLM coding plan, rather than being tied to a single company. It also works with OpenRouter (try it with one of their free agentic models, like Nemotron 3)

I’d love to hear any feedback!
