This is a great app for those that hate DIY and assembling stuff. Swiffix is your 'Uber for X' for all things you might need at home in Dubai.
I first used Swiffix to assemble some IKEA furniture and later to install something bought from ACE hardware. The app connects you to trained and vetted handymen/women, technicians and other such companies that come to you for a set amount per job. No more calling and following up and explaining someone where you live - just choose a service, schedule a time, watch them drive up to your place.
What was even more impressive was that I offered them a tip and they refused, stating it's against the app's policy!
After using it for the first time I got curious to know the founder behind the app and met John Mushriqui who explained to me his vision - to expand this to other parts of the middle east and add other services - such as car service etc.
They are, at the moment, looking to raise their first round of venture capital and are also looking for companies to partner up to build scale.
There is still scope for improvement - such as a feature to share the app with your friends, a family account, choosing your favorite providers, etc. But its always a charm to see an unorganized sector nicely organized and put on an app to make life easier.
