Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Sumit, and I built SweepyMac because every Mac cleaner I tried asked me to trust a big "Clean" button without showing me what it would delete. SweepyMac does the opposite: it shows its work, and everything it removes can be undone.
Here's every module:
🔍 Smart Scan — one pass over user caches, app logs and saved app state, totals what you can reclaim. Only the conservatively safe categories are pre-selected; nothing is touched until you press Clean.
❤️ Mac Health — a single score out of 100 from storage, memory, battery and startup load, with plain-English recommendations ("Disk is almost full") that jump straight to the module that fixes it.
🧹 Cleanup — Trash, user caches, logs, saved state, developer caches (Xcode, npm, etc.) and leftovers from apps you already deleted. Itemised, and opt-in for anything riskier.
🛡️ Protection: Privacy — browser cache, history and cookies split per browser and per profile (Chrome, Brave, Safari…). Every row starts unticked.
🦠 Protection: Malware — a content + persistence sweep against signed, auto-updating definitions, with an honest list of what it couldn't read.
⚡ Performance — live CPU, memory, disk, network, thermal and uptime meters, plus one-click chores: free inactive memory, flush DNS, run macOS maintenance scripts, manage login items.
🔋 Battery — real capacity, cycle count, condition (including "Service Recommended") and care tips, read from macOS.
📦 Applications — a real uninstaller: it takes the app's preferences, caches and launch agents with it — into the Trash, so even that is undoable.
📁 Files — a Large & Old finder for any folder, and a Duplicates finder that matches byte-identical copies (not lookalikes) and always leaves one copy behind.
🫧 Space Lens — a live bubble map of any folder you can click into while it's still measuring.
💽 Disk — your whole volume drawn to scale, every category sized and labelled. If something can't be measured, it says so instead of inventing a number.
☁️ Cloud Cleanup — evict local copies of iCloud Drive files to get space back without deleting anything; they re-download when opened.
