A Markdown editor that actually respects your privacy. 🔒

Hi Product Hunt! 👋

I’m MasFana, the maker of SvelteMark.

I built SvelteMark because I was frustrated with modern note-taking apps. They either require a login, store my data on servers I don't control, or lag when files get too big. I wanted something that felt like a native app but ran instantly in the browser.

SvelteMark is different because it’s 100% local.
When you type, your data is saved to your browser's IndexedDB. Nothing is ever sent to a server. No accounts, no tracking, no "cloud sync" issues.

What’s under the hood?
It’s built with Svelte 5 (using Runes!), which makes the editing experience incredibly snappy. We use CodeMirror 6 for the editor and a custom scrolling sync that keeps your preview perfectly aligned.

Key Features:

  • Live Preview: Real-time rendering with GitHub styling.

  • 📊 Diagrams & Math: Native support for Mermaid.js and KaTeX.

  • 📴 Offline Ready: Install it as a PWA and use it without internet.

  • 📂 Local File System: Organize notes with a proper folder structure.

It’s completely Open Source, so you can inspect the code yourself.

I’d love to hear your feedback! What features would make this your daily driver?

Happy writing! 😹
