SurfEnglish turns real articles, X posts, podcasts and webpages into English practice on iPhone. Swipe a sentence to translate, double-tap a word for its meaning in context, highlight natural language chunks, and listen with an on-device AI voice. Everything you look up becomes games built from your own reading. No deck building, no ads, and no account required. Free to start.
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built SurfEnglish because finding something interesting to read shouldn’t be the hardest part of learning English. Most learning apps start with a fixed course; SurfEnglish starts with the real articles, X posts, podcasts, and websites you already want to explore.
While you read, you can swipe a sentence to translate it, double-tap any word for its meaning in context, highlight reusable language chunks, and listen with an on-device voice. The words and sentences you touch are saved automatically, then become Sentence Builder and Word Raid games—so review grows out of your own reading instead of a generic deck.
SurfEnglish is free to start on iPhone, works without an account, and has no ads or cross-app tracking. It supports 12 interface languages and translation into 21 languages.
I’d especially love feedback on the reading-to-game loop: does learning from your own reading make review feel more useful? Thanks for taking a look! 🌊
