Meow Product Hunt 👋 When Wunderlist shut down, @christianreber introduced Superlist in a Tweet. Personally, I loved Wunderlist, and since then, I've been looking for its successor, experimenting with alternatives that just didn't work. I had conversations with competitors asking me what made Wunderlist so special. Could it be the attention to detail, the feeling of speed, or a mix of both? It's hard to describe. Four years later, the wait is over and Superlist is now open to the world. I had the opportunity to play around with the product a few months ago and I must say, I really enjoy the experience so far -- a nice cross-over between tasks and notes, seamless, collaborative, and delightful. Over to you, go to superlist.com and give it a spin. If you too missed Wunderlist, you'll love Superlist. Enjoy!

Congraulations @christianreber @fmerian on the launch of Superlist! 🎉 As a fellow Wunderlist aficionado, I understand the void left when it shut down. But now, thanks to @christianreber's vision and dedication, Superlist has emerged as the perfect successor, blending the best of task management and note-taking into one seamless experience. Dive in at superlist.com and rediscover the joy of productivity! 🚀

@christianreber @fmerian Really impressed by this! I've used every productivity app from wunderlist, akiflow, motion, upbase, etc. LOVING this so far.

Thank you for hunting us @fmerian! I am extremely excited to continue the Wunderlist journey. It feels like coming home. I have always felt loyal to our users and have been planning this launch for years. I hope you all will enjoy the first version of Superlist, now available for Mac, iOS, Android & Web! When we sold Wunderlist in 2015 to Microsoft, I felt broken. We put so much hard work and passion into building the product, but I didn’t feel like we’d finished the job. Our vision has always been to build the ultimate to-do app that works perfectly for your personal and professional life. Wunderlist was simple, beautiful, and easy – but never optimized for teams. When Microsoft took over my team and relaunched Wunderlist under its new brand, Microsoft ToDo, I tried to use it, but it just wasn’t for me. So I tried buying Wunderlist back but didn’t succeed. That was the day I decided to found Superlist – the real successor product to Wunderlist. Our team worked incredibly hard on Superlist – we are super excited to launch v1.0 today. The product is still early, but we feel the time is right. Our goals for the upcoming months are to make Superlist even simpler and more delightful to use, and incredibly useful and productive for teams. Thank you to the Superlist team for being patient and really giving their best, especially in the last months. This is the start of a long journey. We’re super excited and can’t wait for your feedback!
@fmerian @christianreber congrats on the launch! Looks amazing ✅🔥

@fmerian @christianreber Congratulations to the Superlist team for such a clear product, in my opinion it will suit all busy users. We are looking forward to using your product. I am sure Superlist is incredibly useful.

@fmerian @christianreber I'm loving the Mac app, also happy how open you are and admitting that you felt broken when you sold to MS in 2015, I think a few of your users also felt broken. But all good now :)

@fmerian @christianreber Huge congrats Christian and the team, you've really created something beautiful that stands out in the space. Excited for what's to come and you've got my wife and I now using it as our main tool for sharing notes/tasks. Well done all around!

Congrats on the Superlist team for launching! Great to have Wunderlist back. My video review will be up on Keep Productive later today for everyone.
Nic Riedel
@francescod_ales Thanks!! Looking forward to it. 🙌

This tool is so desperately needed. Most todo lists live in isolation — they pretend you have a perfect personal todo list, or they're overkill bloated team-focused project management tools. Superlist fills the void by being the perfect tool to help you manage your personal todo list, while pulling in tasks from all the tools you and your team already use, like Linear, Slack, Notion, etc. The team behind this are rockstars, so I am really excited to see what the future holds for Superlist!
Brandon_Arnold
@jamesjgill this was 100% our finding and why we built it without soloing away work from personal. Thanks for the comment!
Nico Lumma
I'm a big fan of Superlist. It's actually the first to-do list app that I have used for longer than 2 days. :)
Nic Riedel
@nico yaaaay!
Brandon_Arnold
@nico wow! That’s great to hear? Do you do primarily tasks or do you do a mix of notes and tasks?
Nico Lumma
@brandon_arnold mostly tasks, private and business - and with a team member. Have been using it for months now. Good stuff!
Pawel Kadysz
Sorry, but this should not be called 1.0. Doesn't sync properly. Loses tasks. Tasks from deleted lists stay in the app. I mean... this is so, sooo unfinished and full of bugs. And then there's lack of basic features. No NLP. No global search even. No proper filtering. No way to edit label name. This is so basic, it hurts. Look at this mess: https://share.cleanshot.com/rwyP... - it can't even process one task list. Clicking the list name takes me to task details.
Marcel Käding
@pawelkadysz Apologies for the troubles and the bugs, Pawel! Would you mind sending us a message to support@superlist.com? Then we can check why the sync is not working properly. As for NLP, Global Search and more features, the points you mentioned are all planned for upcoming versions of the app, alongside many other improvements.
Pawel Kadysz
@marcelkaeding so much more to fix in the UX and overall task management basics. 1. Subtasks don't reset on repeating tasks - make it impossible to use the app for mini repeated projects with checklists. 2. No way to edit or delete labels. 3. When I add a task to a list with sections - it's being added under the last section which doesn't make sense. It should be added above all sections. 4. No way to get tasks with particular label. What's the point of labels now then? What's the use case if you can't click a label and get all the tasks with that particular label? 5. When I go to upcoming tasks - they are not sorted by date unless I set the filter to sort by due date. But what if I want to sort by list? I get all the upcoming tasks divided by lists but NOT sorted by date. Useless. 6. No way to only get tasks with NO date. 7. No keyboard shortcuts for adding a date to a task? I have no idea why would @francescod_ales put it in "The top 10 of todo apps" automatically. Sure, the app is pretty, but in terms of usability - it doesn't even come close to the top 10 right now. And I don't mean it should be bloated with features - I get the "simplicity" approach. But there's a difference between simplicity and releasing an app with no basic "todo list" features. It's like taking the head off the hammer and calling it a "simplified hammer". I love it when people review the app without actually trying to use it on a daily basis. Fill it with three or four placeholder bogus tasks and call it "one of the top 10 of the todo apps"...
Marcel Käding
@francescod_ales @pawelkadysz Appreciate the honest feedback! A lot of these points are on our list for future updates and we'll gradually keep improving the app with each version.
James Bathgate
@pawelkadysz I’m glad I don’t need any of the features you’re asking for. Seems pretty good to me. I mostly need it for the integrations.
Daniel Stöltzner
I have tried maaany different task management tools. The once I like are too limited in functionality and those who pretending to be the Swiss-Army-Knife are overloaded. BUT I have never seen one like Superlist before. The creation of subtasks is so smoothly integrated into the flow. 🌊 The horizontal structure is amazing and for me the biggest USP. Superlist gives me the freedom to expand thoughts and tasks as I wish, without the UI forcing me into a certain framework. 🙌🏻 PLUS: The seamless merging of tasks, text, and media is just awesome. I am really looking into future release - especially with a view to the roadmap. 💯
Nic Riedel
@vitaminbeta we are super happy that you've been with us for such a long time already!! Thanks for the great support and feedback, Daniel!
