Hey everyone! I'm Santosh, the maker of SuperBased. I built this because I was spending more time explaining bugs than fixing them. Every day it was the same thing — screenshot, crop, paste, write a wall of text for context. Multiply that across Slack threads, GitHub issues, and AI chat sessions. The feature I'm most excited about is the Token Compression Engine. If you're working with LLMs daily (and who isn't at this point), you know how expensive it is to paste text screenshots. SuperBased renders them as optimized images that cost a fraction of the tokens — same content, up to 83% cheaper. Auto-capture is the other one that's changed my workflow. You turn it on and it silently captures every click, scroll, and tab switch. It's like having a visual audit trail of everything you did — perfect for reproducing bugs or documenting workflows. We pivoted SuperBased from an earlier screenshot experiment into what it is now: a local control plane for AI coding agents.

If you run Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or a pile of agent CLIs, SuperBased shows real provider-reported cost across tools, then lets you drive sessions from one dashboard (terminals, takeover, routing, guardrails). Local by default, open source (Apache-2.0), personal use free forever.
