SudoSketch makes online Sudoku feel like paper. Write numbers directly into the grid with Apple Pencil, stylus or finger, or use the classic keypad. Play six difficulty levels and daily challenges, print puzzles, learn techniques interactively, and ask Sudoku Coach for the next logical move without revealing the whole solution. It is free, browser-based and requires no account.
Being able to share a puzzle link with a friend so they can solve the same grid would be a great touch, especially for the daily challenge.
@ahin221445 - Thank you for the feedback! I’ve just made the Daily Sudoku archive much easier to find: https://www.sudosketch.com/daily-sudoku/archive/. Every puzzle now has its own permanent link, making it easy to share with friends. Direct sharing of today’s challenge is a nice idea too, so I’ll see if I can make that even simpler.
One thing that would help me a lot is a dark mode for the grid and pencil marks, since I often play late at night and the bright white background strains my eyes. Could you also add an option to auto-highlight the row, column, and 3x3 box when I tap a cell, so I can spot conflicts faster.
@tunahan155609 - Thanks for the suggestions! A dark board theme is already on my wishlist, and I like the idea of optional row, column and 3×3 highlighting to make scanning easier. I’ll add both to the feature list.
The pencil-on-paper feel really shines here, especially how the handwriting stays crisp without any lag. Love that Sudoku Coach nudges you toward the next logical move instead of just handing over the answer.
@diyarzeytushwa - Thanks, I really appreciate that. That’s exactly what I was trying to build, a coach rather than a solver. I wanted it to guide you towards the next logical step instead of simply giving away the answer, so it’s great to hear that’s coming across.
The handwriting input with my stylus actually felt really natural, like I was scribbling in a notebook instead of tapping boxes. Honestly the coach hint feature is what got me, it nudges you without spoiling the whole solve.

Out of interest, did it work well out of the box, or did you use the calibration tool in Settings first? If you used the calibration, I’d love to know whether it was easy to follow or if there’s anything I could improve.
The handwriting-on-grid approach is so well done, it actually feels like the ink is sitting on the puzzle rather than under a UI layer. Love that the coach nudges without spoiling.

Can I ask one question? Were you using an Apple Pencil, another stylus or just your finger? Also, did the handwriting recognition work well straight away, or did you need to use the calibration tool in Settings first? I’m always looking to improve that first-time experience.

@nuran144240 - Thank you, I’m really pleased to hear that! One of my goals was to make writing into the grid feel as close to pencil and paper as possible, so it’s great to hear that came across.
