Studio Ledgr started because of a very specific problem I saw in real life. My salsa teacher runs informal community classes. New people join through social events, friends bring friends, and groups naturally form over time. It’s not a formal dance studio with staff and front-desk software. One day I watched her spend several minutes trying to figure out who owed what. Some students had paid, some had credits from previous classes, and some simply couldn’t remember. Because she’s a kind person, she would sit down with everyone and manually sort it out. The problem wasn’t the money itself. The problem was the tiny amount of mental energy it consumed every single class. Studio Ledgr is my attempt to remove that micro-friction. Mark attendance, record payments, and know exactly who owes what without spreadsheets, notebooks, or awkward conversations. For $5/month, the goal isn’t to save hours. It’s to eliminate a recurring source of stress so instructors can focus on teaching instead of bookkeeping. My salsa teacher is also my first tester, and much of the product has been shaped by her feedback and real-world use.
