Hi folks Harshitha here, the parent-turned-product-builder behind Stories of Life. Here’s the back-story and why I’m so excited to share it with you:
Why I built this
Turn bedtime chaos into connection: Evenings at my house felt rushed and restless. I wanted a gentle ritual that helped my daughter feel heard and helped me end the day on a calmer note.
Grow emotional literacy, one story at a time: Research shows kids thrive when they can name and process feelings early. I thought, What if bedtime stories could do that heavy lifting for us without feeling like a lesson?
Use AI for real warmth, not gimmicks: GenAI is everywhere, but I rarely see it deepen relationships. Stories of Life is my experiment in using tech to nurture empathy and family bonds.
What’s new & unique about this launch
Reflection-to-Story Engine - I jot three quick prompts (a win, a wobble, a wish) and the app spins them into a personalized bedtime tale within seconds.
Age-adaptive narration - The story’s language, length, and reading level shift automatically for ages 3-7, 8-12, or teens plus an optional soothing audio track.
Emotion Garden - Each story plants a tiny “emotion seed” that grows over time, giving kids a playful, visual way to track how they feel.
Privacy-first design - No photos, no permanent personal data; prompts are processed, then wiped. Peace of mind included.
🌟 What I’m most proud of
Impact over polish: A scrappy MVP (Bolt + Supabase + Vercel) already helping 25 test families say bedtime is actually calmer.
Fast feedback loop: Every story ends with a one-tap “felt spot-on / off-track” so the engine learns nightly parents tell me it feels like the product “grows with the family.”
Community-driven roadmap: Sibling co-stories, festival themes, and multi-part arcs all came from early users. Launching here is my next step in co-creating with a larger community.
