I built StitchBoy because I watched my partner struggle with janky design tools and printed explanations, and every pattern tool she found was either desktop-only, locked behind a subscription for basic features, or ofcourse a spreadsheet with colored cells. I wanted to give her something that actually understands crochet and cross-stitch: stitch gauges that change cell proportions, row directions that flip for wrong-side rows, segment-by-segment instructions you can swipe through on your phone while stitching on the couch. The whole thing runs in the browser. No install, no app store. You can drop in a photo (or generate one with AI) and convert it to a charted pattern, then track your progress row by row. It's free right now during beta. The only thing that most likely will be paid is the Image generation, but for now that is free as well for 5 generations a day.
