Stenos is an app that takes notes for you. It's the personal assistant that writes down what you discuss. You'll remember every meeting in detail. Stenos speak 59 languages and is designed with your privacy first.
👋 Hey Producthunt, Stijn here!
My cofounder Elvis and I started working on Stenos because we lacked a system to record our meetings in person, in our own languages (Lithuanian & Dutch)
👎 The Problem
We take notes and there are hundreds of note taking apps out there, if not more. However, sometimes, we are either too concentrated to take notes or we do take them, but we miss essential parts. (We literally started this over a case of non matching notes)
Yes there are transcriptions system, and apps. But they aren't and multi-lingual and privacy safe and accurate. (We tried).
✅ The Solution
We designed a simple intuitive app that writes out your conversations, stores your data on your device and makes everything searchable.
We partnered with existing AI-providers to be as precise and multi-lingual as we could get, without huge investments in R&D. This allows us to offer you a very simple proposition: Value for money. No data for algorithmic hunger, no spying, no huge private investments, no lock-in.
Let's know what you think in the comments! We'd love to hear from you.

Sometimes you wonder why things have not been created before, it seems so obvious, this is one of them! Following you guys closely! 💪🚀
@et1881 Thanks, we aim for simplicity. To be fair there are some other apps that do comparable things (we discovered them while planning). But we also think we excel in simplicity, accuracy privacy and last but not least: Being multi-lingual.

Sometimes it's hard to keep up with the meeting ant take notes by yourself, this app is a life saver!
@lucky_jeffman I get that, we are looking in to it. We have worked our backend to an hourly model. This way we can give you are fair offer. We don't need your data, we don't need to lock you in. It is value for money.
That being said, there is a demand for LTD's and monthly plans.

I've seen several transcription apps like these and the main problem is catching up with different accents.
English is 1 language but there are variety of ways people pronounce certain words and sometimes there sound frequency changes. I haven't seen any app which does this correctly as of now.
Also, one more problem I see how do you differentiate and understand proprietory words.
Due to all these limitations, my experience has been pretty bad.
Let me know if you've solved some of these problems in this app and I'll be more than happy to try.
@rishabh_agrawal2 It knows 15 English accents, amongst which for instance: US English, UK English, Indian English and Nigerian English. You'll have to set them manually for now, though.
You'll get half an hour to try it out, I'd love to hear if it works for you!

Love this! I use when I have some ideas , so that it’s directly transcribed into text. Last I used it when I listened to a great podcast and I wanted to share something in text about it . No procrastination anymore
IDeal when you’re on the road and not able to write stuff down!
