Steamrolers is a community for developers, designers, and other people in tech to discuss the issues associated with the lack of diversity in tech. We also hold organized discussions and AMAs with startup founders/execs from underrepresented groups. Ultimately, we want to provide solutions that address the "pipeline" issues, hiring practices, retention problems, etc. Please join us. It's an open community, and our first organized meetup (just last Thursday) was pretty awesome and had over 1000 messages sent.
I think that this community isn't just about discussion, but also finding a solution, which I realize probably has too many characters to fit into the description box! :D
*slow clap*
This is really great, something like this is needed. I'm definitely in the "others" category but I for sure know its an issue thats affecting all levels and professions within the startup/tech scene.
Question: What made you guys to decide to go with Slack? Think its great, just curious.
@everette Thanks Everette. Regarding Slack: It's very easy to deploy and does the job well. I'm a member in several Slack communities. I'm a huge fan of Slack so it just made sense for us.
