Stark is a brutalist-designed step tracker that cuts the noise. Open the app, see your steps — that's it. Built on HealthKit for accurate tracking with zero battery drain. Features: • Animated progress bar & daily goal tracking • Streak system with freeze protection (like Duolingo, but for walking) • 5 home screen widget layouts • Apple Watch companion app • Hourly movement log, weekly breakdowns & personal records • Dark mode, haptic feedback & pull-to-refresh
Hey Product Hunt! 👋
I built Stark because every step tracker I tried was bloated — social feeds, challenges I didn't ask for, and way too many screens between me and my step count.
Stark is the opposite. Open it, see your steps, close it. Done.
The design is intentionally brutalist — black borders, monospace numbers, kinetic orange accents. It's meant to feel like a dashboard instrument, not a social app.
A few things I'm proud of:
→ The streak system with freeze protection — miss a day after a 3-day streak? You get one freeze. It keeps you motivated without being punishing.
→ Zero third-party dependencies — just Swift, SwiftUI, and HealthKit
The core experience is free. Pro unlocks stats, calendar logs, and the Apple Watch app.
Would love your feedback — what would make you actually stick with a step tracker?
