Ship something, then watch it take off. Stargazer Bar shows your GitHub repo's stars and forks trending live in your Mac menu bar — an actual history from background checks as often as every 10 minutes, not a snapshot. Share a milestone screenshot or X post from the menu. Also tracks release downloads, a maintainer radar (CI/PRs/issues), and any public repo — no GitHub account required.

the live history view is genuinely useful, way more than the snapshot dashboards i usually check. running it on a repo without logging into github was a nice surprise.
@ariflq7p Thank you! It's also possible to track non-own open source repo, if needed. Be aware, for repos with huge star number it may take long time to be added (fixing it in upcoming release).

love that it works without a github account and still pulls the full star history, not just a current count. the live updating right from the menu bar feels like something apple themselves should have shipped.
@ezelfevzioeqqo thank you for the warm feedback!

How does the menu bar handle multiple repos at once, and is there a limit on how many you can pin without it getting cluttered?
@cerenocgd
The menu bar itself stays clean — it always shows just one
number, and you pick which one in Settings:
• Selected repo — stars
• Selected repo — downloads
• Total stars across all tracked repos
• Total downloads across all tracked repos
All tracked repos then live in the dropdown, one row each with its own
submenu (trend chart, latest release stats, 30-day activity, maintainer
radar). So multi-repo tracking doesn't mean multiple numbers crammed
into the menu bar — that stays a single-glance counter.
Right now there's a hard cap of 5 tracked repos. It's a deliberate
choice — the app is meant for watching a handful of projects you actually
care about, not managing dozens. Easy to lift if there's real demand,
but 5 feels like the right ceiling for the "quietly watched" vibe.
Finally something that puts my repo's star count where I can actually see it. The menu bar post feature is a nice touch for hitting those milestone moments.
@kriyeqhl5 thank you for the feedback!
