Your work is spread across email, chat, docs and code. StandIn gives everyone on your team a personal work representative that learns their work, then answers for it. When you're away, it answers teammates for you, day or night: labeled as your StandIn, with the source under every answer. It answers what's in your work and points to the right person for everything else, so every decision stays yours. Works with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack and GitHub. Free for 7 days, up to 10 people!

Hi Product Hunt,
I'm Parker, co-founder of StandIn.
For most of my career, being good at my job meant being reachable. My teams were eight or nine time zones away, and a question that landed at 22:00 had two outcomes: I answered it from bed, or someone lost a day waiting.
Executives have always had someone who could answer for them. Almost nobody else does.
So we built StandIn: a personal work representative for everyone on the team. It learns your work, then answers for it. It's available 24/7, so your evenings stay yours. And everyone on the team gets their own, built from their own work.
How it works:
Connect the tools you already use: Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack or GitHub. Everything in them stays exactly as you left it.
Check what it knows. It drafts a summary from your day's work. Fix what's off and add what only you know, like who decides while you're out.
Set your Slack status to away. When a teammate asks, your StandIn answers from your work, labeled as yours, with the source underneath.
Come back to a short note: "While you were away, I answered 3 questions. One needs you."
Your StandIn answers, and leaves every decision to you. It answers what's in your work, and for everything else it points your teammate to the person who knows. So every answer that carries your name is one you'd give yourself.
For Product Hunt: start free for 7 days with up to 10 people, no card needed. Start now and you lock in our launch price for the Team plan when it opens: €25 per seat per month instead of €50.
We're a small team split between Amsterdam and Poland. Kris, Łukasz and I are here all day. Try it in two minutes: https://www.standin.co/demo
What's the one question you get asked over and over?
@parker_miller6 The time of managers who are best as information proxies are over. Now with AI and tools like Standin the asynchronous communication is being drastically redefined. What we need to remember though, is that human is still in the center of decision making and ensuring the right thing is being done.
What excites me about Standin the most is that the AI engine under the hood is not autonomous but rather serves the users when they need it the most.
No more late nights just for the sake of being online.
the label and source under each answer are the bits i'd want before letting anything speak for me at work
routing the unknowns to a real person is a sensible limit
@saad_el_gueddari agreed! what we're wanting to merge is efficiency and trust, mimicking or answering without evidence is a real risk for adoption and enablement.
@parker_miller6 Congrats on the launch! The detail I like most is “the source under every answer”: it’s what turns an AI reply into something a colleague can actually trust.
@johan5stars thank you! it's funny this is the most responded to feature, believe there's a real need for trust layer in AI interface, sounds like it could be this easy!
Hi again, @parker_miller6 here!
Six hours in, thank you for the comments and the sign-ups for @StandIn . I want to say something about the problem we're solving for.
Somewhere along the way, being reachable became part of being good at your job. You answer the 22:00 message because the alternative is someone in another time zone losing a day. You check Slack on holiday because three questions are waiting and you know the answers. 85% of workers get work messages outside their hours at least a few times a month (SurveyMonkey, 2025), and most of us stopped noticing years ago - that's what we got used to.
It isn't normal. For a long time, the people at the top of a company had someone who could answer for them: a chief of staff, a deputy, someone who knew what they'd decided and why. They went to dinner and the work kept moving. Everyone else learned to keep the phone face up on the table.
A StandIn is who can answer for you, for everyone on the team. It learns your work, then answers your teammates while you're away, with your name and the source on every answer, and points them to the person who knows for everything else. Your teammate gets the answer at 22:00. You get it in a short note the next morning, with the one thing that needs you.
Normal should be: you log off, your teammates still get their answers, and your evening stays yours.
Kris, Łukasz and I are here until the day closes. The demo is at standin.co/demo if you want to see it rather than read about it.
When did you last answer a work question from bed?
This would have come in real handy when I was a senior engineer at Tradeshift working across 5-6 timezones!!!! Congrats on the launch, this is awesome!
What a great tool, can't wait to see how Standin can help my distributed team manage our silo'd work knowlege across different timezones.
