The idea behind StandCrafted originally started when I learned my wife was expecting our first child. My small home office was turning into a nursery, so I needed to rethink my tabletop standing desk and leverage only a small living room corner wall. I wasn't happy with anything on the market, so I invented StandCrafted. I came up with a patent pending "Spine" which mounts directly to the wall. This core piece allows a user to quickly reconfigure modules to support any job function or sit/stand position. The current Kickstarter package includes four modules: a monitor mount, a small table, a keyboard/trackpad mount and a laptop mount. The Spine is also designed with a unique rear cable conduit to enable a clean, clutter-free environment. I am currently designing a tablet-sized drafting table (for iPad Pro + pencil) and a multi-monitor solution. I have prototypes set up in my personal apartment, a makerspace, and a dentist’s office, and I envision this to be useful in many more environments (coffee shops, small businesses, co-work spaces, medical environments, industrial areas, and retail).
