Hey Product Hunt I’m Jesse, founder of StackShift. What inspired StackShift was a frustration I kept running into as a developer: deploying an app is only one part of the work. The harder part is everything around it. The servers, databases, domains, DNS, email delivery, logs, backups, billing, cloud accounts, and debugging when something breaks. StackShift is solving that fragmentation. We’re building one control plane where teams can deploy apps, manage databases, attach domains, configure DNS, run multi-container stacks, connect their own servers, provision nodes inside their own cloud accounts, configure outbound email providers, monitor logs and metrics, manage billing, and use AI-assisted failure diagnosis. The approach evolved a lot while building it. At first, StackShift looked more like the normal hosting platform. But the more we built, the clearer the real problem became: teams do not only want convenience, they also want ownership. That led us to support BYOServer, BYOCloud, and BYOSMTP as core product directions. The bigger thesis is simple: software teams should not have to choose between convenience and control.
