We're excited to announce a new tech stack data file format! The first application we're launching to use this new file is a GitHub App that auto-documents your tech stacks for you ✨ There's a lot of manual tech stack documentation going on right now on GitHub (some examples here: https://github.com/search?q=%22t...). It's tedious and even really sophisticated orgs like Shopify do it for some of their repos. The GitHub App we're launching today is the easiest way to get automated tech stack docs for all your repos with a few clicks. You get a data file (techstack.yml), a visualization file (techstack.md), and a README snippet for each of your repos. AND the files are updated once per week to account for any tech stack changes. We'd love to hear your feedback on this!

Wow, this is awesome. Does it work for private repos? I am definitely going to add this to a few of my repos to test it out.

@kingromstar yes, it does! Just requires you to install the GitHub App (during installation the app asks for permission to your repos and you can select private or public repos).
Candice Hermant
Hey! Cool tech 😃 Does it work with Gitlab repos ? If not, are you planning on making it compatible with Gitlab anytime soon?
Hats off to the creators of this ingenious GitHub App!
