Data owned privately by your own Google Accounts with limited access scope to files created by this application. Quick to use for complicated splitting tasks with multiple people involved and complicated "who owes who what". Try for free even without sign-in but sign-in for persistence.
How does it handle situations where three or more people owe each other in a chain, does it actually simplify the transfers or just list out every debt?
@serap573014 It simplifies all the transfers you need to make so you don't need to make any sends! Sometimes there will be some rounding error so there will be a ~0.01 cent difference.
how does the splitting actually work when it comes to uneven expenses like when one person covers a big dinner but everyone chips in different amounts afterwards
@rdvantunzwcz1 Wow this is an amazing insight to have with regards to splitting! It doesn't actually consider uneven expenses currently, but I can expand on it with a future update. Will need to consider privacy in that regards too for how much each individual wants to reveal.
What is does consider currently is being able to select who covers which items which in a way can adjust for uneven orders!
How does the free tier handle scenarios where multiple people need to edit or view the same split at the same time, especially without signing in?
@enesdlxz The try with no account is explicitly meant for quick calculations that don't need persistence (hence no sharing). The whole app is free pending sign-in for sharing purposes since it makes use of shared files among users. However that signing in is just for authentication and file sharing purposes, no actual data is saved on the servers for accounts!
Once sign in is performed, then when people create groups, they can add users via email which shares them a file that allows the added users to join via "join shared group" option. Then any user can view, edit, etc with optimistic overwrite dealing with consistency.
Love that it runs on your own Google Account with restricted file access instead of dragging in yet another third-party data storage. The no-sign-in trial is a nice touch for those awkward "let me just calculate this quick" moments.
