I was creating a (Jekyll) website and I needed a different image for each page. At first I was downloading them manually from Unsplash.com and then still had to crop them and add the title. While Unsplash asks you to attribute the photo, there is no EXIF/IPTC tags in the image file, nor any (optional) watermark on the photo itself. I wanted to do all of that in 1 step, so I put it in a script. I can now just specify the title and the photo search query and in +- 10 seconds, splashmark will prepare an image for me that is the perfect size, with attribution to Unsplash and the photographer, with the same 'look' (using some visual filters like darken-median filter-add grain) and a big title in the font I want. The script (100% bash) can be installed with 'basher install pforret/splashmark'
