Hi Product Hunt — I built Spex because I kept losing the same small piece of keyboard flow every time I moved between Excel and Google Sheets.
In Excel, I can press Alt and work through menu commands without taking my hands off the keyboard. In Sheets, many of those same conceptual actions sent me back to the mouse.
Spex adds a keyboard-first layer to Google Sheets: press Alt / Option to reveal contextual KeyTips, follow the displayed keys instead of memorizing the full map, and choose between a Sheets-native keymap and an Excel-style mapping.
I deliberately kept Spex focused on interaction rather than spreadsheet analysis. There is no Spex backend receiving extension usage data, and no telemetry or analytics.
The feedback I'd most like: which Google Sheets actions still make you reach for the mouse?
