A row of letters and numbers flashes for a split second - then you type it back from memory. Unlike passive speed reading apps, active recall trains your visual span, short-term memory and focus. 6 difficulties x 9 levels, from 150 to 650+ characters per minute. New in this update: a result screen with your reading speed and how much faster the next level is, statistics with your progress over time, tablet layouts and 22 languages. @jose_tolsickyĀ I've tested it and the first levels seemed easy, but once numbers and letters get mixed it's getting challenging..... I like that i have to type it back, to actively recalling, not just repeating what i saw. Is there a trick to remembering the mixed rows, or is it just practice?
@franta_mazak Thanks for testing it, Franta! You're right, the mixed rows are where the real training starts. Mostly it's practice, but a few tricks help:
chunk it: see the row as 2-3 small groups instead of single characters (like K7P 4MX)
look at the middle of the row, not the first character, your eyes pick up the edges anyway
say it in your head while it flashes, sound sticks better than the picture alone
Most people find the mixed rows click after a few days. Which level are you on now?
