I built Speechka because I wanted to solve a simple problem: language barriers still make real-time conversations unnecessarily difficult. Most translation tools work well when you have time to stop, type, read, or listen to a separate translated voice. I wanted something that could become part of the conversation itself: you speak naturally, Speechka translates your speech in real time, and the other person hears the translation in your own voice. I built Speechka end-to-end, from the product and interface to the technical implementation. A huge part of the work went into finding the right balance between translation quality, voice quality, and latency. The latest version brings the average translation delivery time down to around 1.5 seconds while keeping the speech natural. Today, Speechka supports 44 languages and is available for macOS and Windows. I also built a browser version so you can try the experience for free without installing anything.
