What's great

As a podcaster and streamer, routing audio on a Mac has historically been an absolute headache. I use SoundPipe to manage a multi-track setup: I route my browser audio (for capturing reaction clips), my music app (for background tracks), and my microphone into completely separate virtual tracks that feed directly into OBS and Logic Pro.

It is fantastic because it finally gives Mac users a visual, intuitive mixing board for virtual devices. Instead of blindly routing audio and guessing if an invisible virtual cable is clipping, I can see the meters and control the levels of every app in one clean, unified interface. It takes a notoriously complex, technical problem and makes it drag-and-drop simple.

What needs improvement

Global Hotkeys: Being able to assign a keyboard shortcut to instantly mute/unmute a specific virtual cable (like Spotify) while live-streaming would be a massive quality-of-life update.
Audio Unit (AU) Support: It would be amazing to be able to drop a basic EQ, noise gate, or compressor directly onto a virtual channel right inside the SoundPipe mixer before it hits my recording app.
Workspace Profiles: Adding the ability to save and load "Profiles" (e.g., a "Podcasting" layout vs. a "Screen Recording" layout) so I don't have to manually re-route my apps when I switch tasks.

vs Alternatives

Before SoundPipe, I primarily bounced between two options: BlackHole and Rogue Amoeba's Loopback. BlackHole is great because it's free and open-source, but it lacks a user interface, which makes troubleshooting levels incredibly frustrating. Loopback is the industry gold standard and works flawlessly, but it is quite expensive and can be overkill for everyday users.

I chose SoundPipe because it hits the perfect sweet spot. It offers the visual feedback and easy routing of premium software without the steep price tag or the intimidating learning curve.
