The Guna Milan matching is interesting since most apps skip it. How deep does the analysis go on real compatibility conflicts like mangal dosha or nadi issues, or is it more of a surface level scoring?
@yeimfb1a Thanks — you clearly know the subject 🙏 It's genuinely beyond surface scoring. We run the full 8‑koota Ashtakoot and return each koota separately with its own points and a reason, rather than one blended number. On the conflicts you mentioned specifically:
• Nadi is checked explicitly — same Nadi flags a Nadi dosha (and since it's the 8‑point koota, it dominates the total, so a mismatch there is impossible to miss).
• Mangal/Manglik dosha is computed for both charts and from both the Lagna and the Moon — not just the ascendant — so it catches the one‑sided Manglik case (which is the actually risky one) and calls it out with a parihar note.
• We also surface Bhakoot dosha (Shadashtak / Dwirdwadash / Navpancham) and enemy Yoni pairs, again with the reason spelled out.
Where I'll be candid: it's an algorithmic engine, so it detects and explains the doshas; the deeper "does this dosha get cancelled, and how severe is it for your specific chart" discussion is handled by the built‑in AI astrologer — you can ask a follow‑up on any flagged conflict. Here everything is computed directly in the sidereal frame via Swiss Ephemeris, so the planets, Lagna, and cusps all share the same Lahiri ayanamsa and nutation — no drift between them. That's the difference that shows up when you cross‑check against professional software.
And the no‑login‑gate part is a deliberate stance: you should be able to pull a real chart and judge the accuracy before anyone asks for your email. Sign‑in only matters if you want to save charts or use the AI. Really appreciate you seeing the intent behind it. 🙌

The whole thing runs on Swiss Ephemeris in a true sidereal frame with Lahiri as default (Raman and KP are switchable), and the ascendant + houses are computed directly in the sidereal frame so the ayanamsa and nutation stay consistent with the planetary positions — that's the bit most "generic" apps get subtly wrong. Dashas are Vimshottari off the Moon's sidereal longitude.

Lahiri isn't a fixed number — it precesses ~50 arc‑seconds a year, so apps that hardcode roughly 24° are already off for any birth date that isn't today. SomiAstro pulls the exact ayanamsa for your birth instant from Swiss Ephemeris and computes the planets and the ascendant in the true sidereal frame together, so nothing slips relative to anything else. That's why it lines up.
And the no‑gemstone thing isn't an accident — the AI is hard‑forbidden from pushing gemstones, donations or paid rituals.
