Social Scraper+ is a Chrome extension that scrapes Reddit threads and X posts from the page you're on. Export comments and replies to clipboard, AI, CSV, and JSON. Local scrape history. Not affiliated with Reddit or X.
What inspired this
I kept needing to pull a Reddit thread or X post into my own LLM for analysis product feedback, AMAs, competitor mentions, sentiment sweeps. Most tools I found wanted a monthly subscription and wrapped everything in AI features I didn’t actually need.
I just wanted: open the post → grab the full comment thread → paste it into ChatGPT or Claude. Simple.
The problem I was solving
Professional scrapers are often built for marketers and agencies: subscriptions, run limits, cloud processing, extra AI layers. I wanted something narrower and more honest:
Scrape the page you’re already reading
Keep it local in your browser
Export to clipboard, a ready-made AI prompt, CSV, or JSON
Pay once, not every month
So I built Social Scraper Plus, a Chrome extension with a side panel on Reddit and X.
How the approach evolved
It started as a personal tool. The first version was rough: just “get comments out of this thread.”
Then I kept hitting real workflow gaps:
Nested replies and scores matter for Reddit research
X needed engagement data, not just text
Export formats had to match how people actually work, spreadsheet for Excel, JSON for scripts, AI prompt for quick analysis
History had to stay local in Chrome storage, not on my servers
I also deliberately avoided the subscription model. Free tier gives you 10 scrapes to try it on real threads. Pro is a one-time license for unlimited scrapes on one browser install.
## What’s next
LinkedIn and Threads are next. TikTok and Instagram later.
Would love your feedback on:
Does this fit your research workflow?
Is the one-time license model more appealing than another $10–45/mo subscription?
Branding, it’s “Social Scraper+” in the store; wondering if spelling out “Plus” is smarter for search.
Happy to answer anything about how scraping works, privacy, or what’s on the roadmap. Thanks for checking it out 🙏

Does the AI export actually summarize the threads or just clean up the formatting, and is that part a separate cost or bundled in?

how does the AI export option work, like is it summarizing the thread or just formatting the raw data before sending it over?

Scraped a long Reddit thread in one click and the JSON export came out clean, no weird formatting headaches. History panel saving past scrapes locally is a nice touch too.

Finally gave this a spin on a long Reddit thread and the CSV export saved me a ton of manual copying. Works exactly as described.

Love that it works right from the page you're already on, no extra tabs or logins to mess with. The local scrape history is a smart touch too, feels like the kind of detail that comes from people who actually use their own tool.
