snitscanner recreates the analog trick of moving a photo across a flatbed scanner mid-scan. A scanline sweeps while you drag, zoom and rotate in real time, so the effect is performed, not a preset. Xerox mode adds crushed blacks and copier grain, and stacking modes layer scan on top of scan like re-feeding a photocopier. Free, no signup, runs entirely in your browser. Your photo never leaves your device. Export as high-res PNG.

The decision to make it run entirely in the browser with no upload is such a smart move, especially for something this tactile and experimental. Feels closer to playing with a real scanner than using another filter app.
The scanline sweeps while you drag thing is genuinely clever, feels way more like playing an instrument than applying a filter. Love that it all runs locally too, no upload nonsense.
honestly this is super cool, the real-time interaction makes it feel way more fun than just slapping a filter on. one thing that would make it even better for me, maybe a way to record a short video of the scan motion so you can share the actual performing-the-effect part with friends
