been waiting for something like this honestly. one thing i'd love to see is cross-chain wallet support baked into the chat itself, so i can tip or send an nft to someone without leaving the conversation or copy pasting addresses. would make it way more useful for actual community stuff.
@smet1510713 Man, you hit the nail on the head! In-chat tipping and sending NFTs directly in the conversation without copy, pasting addresses is exactly where Web3 messaging needs to go. Since Snapchain already knows the wallet address of your contact, we can make sending crypto as easy as sending a photo.
Because of your comment, I'm definitely adding In-Chat Tipping & NFT Transfer (Cross-Chain) as a major Stretch Goal on our roadmap! Thanks a lot for this awesome idea!
The integration of Web3 identity into a messenger UI without cluttering the chat experience looks like a really thoughtful design choice. Curious how you handled wallet connection flows without making the onboarding feel like a chore.

i made short video to explain how it worksWalletConnect Integration: Users connect using any mobile wallet already installed on their phone (like MetaMask or Trust Wallet) in just two taps.
Session Wallets: Once connected, Snapchain generates a local Session Wallet. This means you do the wallet connection once and after that, you can chat without any annoying wallet pop ups for every single message.
This is cool, but damn if that isn't one sparse homepage, haha - give visitors SOMETHING to read...

That's a fair point and your math has right, 200 messages a day is around $6 a month. That's real money and I'm not going to pretend it isn't.
But the goal was never to replace WhatsApp, Signal or Telegram for everyday group chats. For hundreds of casual messages a day, those apps are simply the better tool and I'd be the first to say so.
Snapchain is built for the messages people think twice about before sending. A journalist and a source. A lawyer and a client. Someone writing across a border where the usual apps are blocked or watched. In those situations the volume is low just a few messages and they need to be impossible to delete, impossible to change and impossible to read by anyone except the person they were meant for.
I'm also working on batching several messages into a single transaction, which brings the cost down significantly. So that number won't stay where it is happy to share the new figures once it's in.
