Buying a new-build home in the UK? Before you move in, you inspect it and flag defects — that's called snagging. Most people use a notepad and phone camera, then lose track of what's reported and what's fixed. Snaggit replaces that. Log every defect with photos and notes, room by room. Track what's raised with your developer and what's outstanding. Everything in one place, on your phone. Built by a solo dev who's been through it himself.

I used Snaggit while walking around my new home and it made the whole snagging process really straightforward. It’s quick and easy to log issues as you spot them, and I found it really useful being able to build up a list in real time and then add to it later when other things became apparent.
That said, there are a few frustrations that stood out while using it:
You can’t edit an item after creating it (so fixing a typo isn’t possible)
You can’t change the room if you accidentally assign it incorrectly
You can’t add extra photos to an existing snag - you have to delete it and start again
When you’re walking around spotting lots of issues, these small things quickly become quite time-consuming.
Overall, it’s a strong and genuinely useful app that really helped me organise my snagging list, but adding proper editing and flexibility would make it a much smoother experience.
@daniel_burford Hi Daniel. Thanks so much for taking the time to post and the feedback. Apologies for the length of time taken to craft a response - as a solo developer it's often times difficult to try and handle building, fixing, and things like ProductHunt and different marketing aspects.
I really appreciate the items you've raised as I have a list of things I am actively working on. Let me respond to what you specifically raised:
You can't edit an item after creating it: This is actually incorrect as a created snagging item can be edited to some degree. You mentioned fixing a typo so I say it can be edited because you can edit the title and description after the event. Snaggit offers inline editing so it's a case of selecting the snagging item, and then tapping into the Title or Description fields and making the edit. The "Save Changes" button only becomes active once the app detects something has changed. I do concede that it's not a great UX as there's nothing to explicitly say "this can be edited" - I will make that clearer in the next update.
You can’t change the room if you accidentally assign it incorrectly: Great feedback. As part of the "Location & Priority" step, you can tap to select a location and then change it prior to the Save operation but yes, it's not currently possible to change the location after the save event. I can see how this would be an issue so I will implement that in the next update.
You can’t add extra photos to an existing snag: Very similar to the above in terms of I can see how that could be quite annoying. Free users can add one photo per snag. Pro users can attach up to 5 so I can definitely improve that "editing a snag" functionality to allow photos to be added (where plan limits allow) to an existing snag.
I'm really glad that it's something you found useful. I ultimately built it as I bought a new build and was totally frustrated with the snagging process so I built something that I would have loved to have had. Love the feedback and I will definitely improve the app with those.
