Hey there - this is an app I built that for $10 does what expensive headsets offer: 3D head tracking for PC sim games. All you have to do is point your smartphone at your face. No extra equipment. I originally made it just for myself but then after showing it off, /r/flightsim begged me to release it as a full app, so I have (both Android and iOS). Customers have been incredibly positive about it. Happy to answer any questions!

@andrew_cho Well, with a trick, VR-"spoofing" actually can work (with something called TrueOpenVR, see instructions for SW: Squadrons on https://smoothtrack.app ). But the main usage for it is when a sim game supports TrackIR. This supports any such sim game. I have already shared SmoothTrack a few times on Reddit, each time it's been very well received. :-)

Terrific app and a great example of tech disruption. In the past, getting this kind of functionality for your PC would cost $150 - $200 and force you to wear an IR reflector on your head (which had to be clipped to a hat or headset). Now you get the same functionality for $10 and 5 minutes of your time (maybe 10 if you’re not tech savvy). Love it. Pro tip: buy a gooseneck phone/tablet holder to position your device just above your monitor.
