Hey Product Hunt! As my first product launch and first time on Product Hunt, it's fitting I introduce myself and tell you about what SmartShelf is all about and my motivation behind building it! My name is Manipal and I'm the solo founder of SmartShelf. The inspiration behind SmartShelf comes from seeing my dad struggle with inventory management, restocking, and managing overstocking or understocking items, all while working alongside him. I saw firsthand how painful, time-consuming, and error-prone manual inventory management was for independent retailers—oftentimes using pen & paper or Excel documents, and spending hours just counting stock to make sure the inventory was accurate. Today, SmartShelf is in Open Beta on the Google Play Store as a fast and efficient tool designed to eliminate the pain of manual inventory. Take photos of your products, and the app will help you turn that information into valuable, structured, and organized inventory data. Currently, it's very early in its stage of smart inventory management. My ultimate vision is to build this into an intelligent, agentic supply chain platform that predicts demand and automates re-ordering for the local shops that keep our communities running.
