I’ve tested a ridiculous amount of AI productivity apps over the last year from both a user and performance marketing perspective, and honestly Smart Noter surprised me more than I expected.
Most note-taking AI apps overpromise and underdeliver once you move past the ads. Usually the transcription breaks on accents, summaries feel robotic, or the UX gets bloated fast. Smart Noter was one of the few apps where the actual retention made sense to me after trying it.
The live transcription is fast, summaries are actually usable without rewriting half of them, and the app feels built for people who genuinely deal with information overload every day. Meetings, random voice notes, content ideas, lecture notes, quick reminders etc. It handles messy real-world input better than most competitors I’ve tested.
From a growth/performance marketer angle, I also think they nailed positioning better than many AI utility apps. It’s not trying to be “AI for everything.” The value proposition is immediately clear within seconds, which is probably why their creatives perform well across multiple angles.
One thing I especially liked: the onboarding doesn’t waste your time. You can reach the core value pretty quickly, which is rare in subscription apps lately.
Still not perfect obviously. I’d like to see deeper integrations and a bit more customization on organization workflows. But compared to most AI note apps in the market right now, it feels much more practical than gimmicky.
Definitely worth trying if your brain has 37 tabs open at all times.
