Group chats bury class files; "Does anyone have the notes?" gets asked every semester, buried in scrollback by exam week. SlipNote: one link per class, no accounts ever. Zero setup, drop the link, and anyone can add or grab files right away. Download a whole section as a zip before exams, preview PDFs in-browser, or scan a QR code off a slide. Free, open source, and self-hostable if you want full control.

Hey PH 👋🏼 ,
SlipNote started with one message that kept coming back in my class group chat: "Who has the notes?" always buried 400 messages deep. So I built the simplest fix: one board per class, one link. No accounts, no sign-up. If you have the link, you're in. Drop it in the group chat, and everyone adds notes, slides, and past papers.
During exam week, download an entire section as a single zip instead of twelve separate downloads.
Free and open source (Laravel + Vue), and you can self-host it.

The name captures the meeting problem well. How do you handle ownership when several people contribute notes to the same meeting?
@jan_piotrzkowski
No shared ownership, SlipNote's not built for that. Each upload is its own file. If you upload a single file, you get a one-time "Undo upload" link, which works only on that page and is gone once you leave or refresh. Multiple files at once don't get that yet (on the list to fix). Beyond that, only the board owner can remove things.
Would love a way to pin a single file or note to the top of the group so it doesn't get lost in the scroll, maybe even mark it as "exam essentials" with a little badge so classmates know what matters most.
@englsarpolpe3b Great idea, thanks! Pinning + an "exam essentials" badge would really help during crunch time. Adding it to the list.
