Slide Dev was built to help improve and speed up the process of how prototyping and software are being build, helping designers, technical team, and none technical individuals to go from design into working apps. Slide Dev was initially a simple image-to-code tool, you upload a screenshot and the AI rebuilds it. It worked, but the output felt generic. The AI was guessing colors, fonts, and layout from pixels instead of knowing them. So we pivoted to Figma integration. Built a plugin that exports your actual frames directly into Slide, which gave the AI real context about what you're building instead of just a screenshot to copy. Then we realized the biggest problem wasn't the code quality it was the workflow. Designers and non-technical founders don't want to prompt engineer. They just want to point at their design and get working code. So we simplified the entire UX around that idea. The last big shift was adding model choice GPT-5.2 for speed, Claude Opus 4.6 for complexity. Different projects need different tools and we wanted users to have that control. Still evolving, next up is extracting real design assets directly from Figma so the AI works with your actual images and colors, not approximations. The gap between design and production code is closing fast.
