Hi everyone 👋 I built Skipper Connect because chartering a boat with friends kept turning into an organisational mess. Every trip, the same pattern: a packing list as a PDF, provisioning in a spreadsheet, expenses in Splitwise, route ideas in a screenshot, and a WhatsApp group where all of it disappeared by day two. As the skipper you end up answering the same questions over and over. How much water do we need? What should I bring? Who paid for the marina? None of those problems are hard. They're just scattered across different tools that don't know about each other. So Skipper Connect puts them in one place: route planning on a map, provisioning that scales to people and days, personal packing lists, shared expenses with multi-currency, a logbook and a sea miles certificate the crew can download as a PDF. Two decisions shaped the whole thing: The crew never pays. They get a link, create a free account, and they're in. Nobody installs anything; it's a web app. It's filled in, not empty. Provisioning suggestions, packing lists, and a boat handover checklist come pre-populated from actual charter trips, so you're editing rather than starting from a blank screen. That part took the longest and turned out to be the thing people actually use. Built solo, hosted on EU servers, GDPR-compliant, no tracking cookies.
