Hi, I'm Marten!
I’m the founder of SkincareMate, a tool inspired by watching my wife spend hours comparing and copy-pasting skincare ingredients between different sites and spreadsheets. I thought, “There has to be a better way in 2025!” and that’s how this Chrome extension was born.
What it does:
Quickly analyzes skincare product pages for ingredient lists.
Highlights common or concerning components.
Helps users compare products side by side without all the manual copy-paste.
How does it work behind the scenes?
SkincareMate pulls information from the product webpage (including ingredient lists) and compares it against:
Commonly avoided ingredients (based on general skincare research)
Your Personal Skin Concerns (entered in your profile)
Your Skin Profile Details (skin type, sensitivity, goals, etc.)
The result is a personalized match score and a quick overview of how well the product aligns with your needs.
SkincareMate works with virtually any skincare product that has an ingredient list available online. As long as the ingredients can be accessed from the product page in your Chrome browser, the extension will analyze them.
How to get started?
Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store
Create your skin profile (takes about a minute) by answering a few questions about your skin type and concerns
Start shopping! As you browse skincare products online, SkincareMate automatically analyzes the ingredients and provides personalized insights
