Hi Product Hunt š
I'm excited to introduce Skills-Find.
The idea came from a frustration I kept running into: every week, dozens of new AI tools appear, but finding the right one for a specific task is surprisingly difficult. Most directories rely on categories, keywords, and popularity rankings, which often lead to information overload rather than useful recommendations.
I started wondering: what if discovering AI tools felt more like talking to an expert?
Instead of asking users to search through thousands of listings, Skills-Find starts a conversation. It asks follow-up questions, understands the actual goal behind a request, and then recommends the most relevant open-source AI tools for that situation.
For example, instead of searching "coding assistant," a user can explain what they're building, their experience level, preferred programming language, deployment requirements, and budget constraints. Skills-Find then narrows down the options and suggests tools that genuinely fit those needs.
The biggest challenge was building a recommendation flow that feels helpful rather than overwhelming. We spent a lot of time refining how the AI asks clarifying questions and ranks recommendations.
I'd love to hear your feedback:
⢠What is your current process for finding AI tools?
⢠What information helps you decide whether a tool is worth trying?
⢠Which AI tools do you struggle to discover today?
Thanks for checking out Skills-Find, and I'm looking forward to your thoughts!
