## Why I Built SkillrHub SkillrHub started with a simple observation: **people have valuable skills, but finding the right person with the right skill isn't always easy.** There are countless talented people—developers, designers, creators, professionals, students, freelancers, and specialists—who know how to do something incredibly well. At the same time, there are people actively looking for those skills, whether they need help with a project, want to learn something new, or simply want to connect with someone who has the right experience. The problem is that these two sides don't always find each other. ### The Problem I'm Trying to Solve Most existing platforms are built around job titles, resumes, followers, or traditional professional profiles. But a person's **actual skills** often tell a much more interesting story. I wanted to explore a simpler idea: **What if skills themselves became the starting point for discovery?** Instead of digging through complicated profiles or searching across multiple platforms, SkillrHub is being built as a place where people can discover skills, showcase what they can do, and connect around those skills. ### My Approach I didn't want to build a huge platform filled with features from day one. The approach has been to start with the core experience, put it in front of real people, see how they use it, and improve it based on what actually matters to them. That means keeping things simple, listening to feedback, studying where users get confused or lose interest, and continuously refining the product. SkillrHub is still young, and there is a lot I want to improve. That's actually one of the reasons I'm sharing it here. ### What's Next My goal is to make SkillrHub genuinely useful rather than simply adding more features. I'm particularly interested in understanding how people want to discover skills, how they prefer to showcase their own abilities, and what would make them come back to the platform.
